Around 145 million years ago, this incredible limestone dendrite slice started to form in Solenhofen, Germany. Solenhofen limestone is one of the most famous in the world, known for its exceptional preservation of fossils and dendrite

Each piece of dendrite has it's own unique markings that have formed from deposits of manganese oxide that crystallised between layers of limestone

Also known as 'picture stones', a truly unique piece of art formed by mother nature
